Mariners' Notices

Mariners are informed that diving operations will be conducted during daylight hours from Sunday 16 June until Saturday 22 June 2013 at South Shell Island, Channel Island, Weed Reef and Wickham Point.

Divers will work from the dive vessel Josh Sarelle with Bay Diver in support.

All dive vessels will display flag Alpha and monitor VHF Channels 10 and 16.

A 250 metre radius safety zone will be in place around the dive operations.

Mariners are instructed to remain outside the safety zones and to navigate with additional caution in the vicinity of the dive vessel

Local Notice 2013/081(T) is hereby cancelled.

Mariners are informed that two yellow special markers (see picture below) will be temporarily established to the South-South-East of Walker Shoal, East Arm in Position 12° 30.234`S 130°52.728`E and 12° 30.288`S 130°52.728`E.

The special marker buoys will be lit with quick flashing yellow light (Q.Y).

The special marker buoys are expected to be withdrawn 31 July 2013.

Mariners are advised to navigate with additional caution in the vicinity of the new special markers.

Mariners are advises that a tide gauge has been established on the eastern side of the remnants of the FHW RORO in position 12° 28.319`S 130° 50.667`E.

The tide gauge consists of a wire runner fitted with retro reflective tape and sensor (see diagram).

Mariners are instructed not to disturb the tide gauge and to navigate with additional caution when in the vicinity of the FHW RORO.
