Change of ownership of Frances Bay Mooring Basin and Associated Wharves

On 19 November, it was a very unexpected pleasure to receive the award for the Port or Terminal of the Year for 2014 at the Lloyds List Annual Shipping Awards for the Darwin Port Corporation.   The awards were held in Sydney with the awards presented before over 500 guests.  This is a team award, I have been fortunate to have a dedicated hard working team achieving outstanding results. The Northern Territory Government has recently completed a review of the Darwin Port Corporation’s financial performance.  The review found that based on current pricing structure, the Corporation is substantially under recovering its operating costs and does not generate an acceptable return on assets.
